The Things We Leave Behind This is a series that I have been thinking about for a very long time. As an employee of a violin shop, I have been fascinated over the years over the things we find in people's violin cases. What do they feel the need to carry with them, and why inside the case of their fiddle? This series is of the instrument cases and their contents of people who have passed away and then the family has no interest in the instrument, so they bring it to us to sell. We try and talk them out of it, maybe they should hold on to it so someone in future generations might pick it up and hold a piece of their family's history. But times are tough and some folks just don't have the luxury. This is a memorial to those people who have since gone and the music they once made. 35 photos |
